It will still require an external processor unit and the PSVR cables to work. No technical specifications are available yet, and Sony has not announced a release date. This is the first wireless solution for PSVR, but it will not be the last. Sony has acknowledged that wireless VR could be a future direction for PlayStation, and this new wireless headset is part of those efforts.
